Here we have the new 2007 Spring add campaign for Louis Vuitton. Scarlett Johansson is this seasons cover girl and with good reason. Her style and the way they have her done up on the ads gives a peak into the spring fashion scene with neutral and white tones, offering a fresh and new look. As for the bags, well, LV "usually" doesn't disapoint....me atleast. Looks like we have a denim design, a white leather and a tote with the word "LOVE" printed on it.

I'm actually not much of ring person. Although I "borrowed" this really cool silver ring that my mom had bought from Filene's. I tend to claim things she buys and never wears. I stumbled onto some of these colored rings on ICE.COM. These type of blingers are referred to as colored gem cocktail rings and they've been catching my eye frequently now. The best thing about this site is that it allows you to pay them in installments, which should take the edge off the prices a little.

Following on from its Roland-Garros tennis handset and its England World Cup phone, Sagem seems well up for the co-branded handset. The company has launched My Oxbow - a collaboration with the surfing label, creating a handset in one of Oxbow's designs.

Before the California surfer girls get all excited this isn't a "surfer friendly" phone like with a water tight handset. It's just a standard Sagem my400v handset with VGA camera. However, it does offer extra surfer content as part of the Vodafone Live service, including weather for surfing, places to stay, information relating to Oxbow (including the latest gear and events) and dedicated downloads. But before all you surfer dudes dash out for one, note this is only currently available in France. But if successful, something similar is likely to head over to the UK and possibly an unlocked version for the U.S.

The super star know as "PINK", who isn't always pink but anyways" has decided to profit from the recent excitement and rise in pink-like items such as cell phones and play stations.

If you remember, PINK has been the face for Sony's Pink PSP Bundle currently being sold in Europe--where they could probably care less about Pink (or do they). I'm in Europe now and I haven't heard any of her songs! The PINK branded players pack a 1.7 inch display, FM tuner, voice and FM recording, and will be available in 1GB and 2GB capacities. They'll be selling in Germany although I feel like they are aiming for the wrong market!

This collection is UNREAL. I fell in love with literally every piece. Valentino's label might be just nine months shy of its forty-fifth birthday, but in a season when a buzz about "lightness" is in the air, Valentino proved he holds the franchise on old-school loveliness. Remarkably, his spring collection made some of the lifelong themes of his work—delicate dresses, lace, bows, and, of course, the color red.

For spring—this all-important third collection— meant ethnic geometrix shapes. We see elements of tribalism on draped and folded silk jerseys, patent-leather breastplates, and animal-like fringe on a long black dresses. As for the dog collars, striped stockings, and strappy, hobbling footgear that accessorized all this—well, it made for provocative entertainment.

Stefano Pilati said he had been inspired by "violets, which to the Greeks symbolized modesty, humility, and virginity—and the feeling of transition from spring into summer." To that end, he laid out one of the prettiest—yet most hazardous—runways ever trodden by models in spike-heel platforms: a deep, earthen lawn planted with hundreds of living purple violas. In theory, it was poetic, but the girls’ tentative, anxiety-raising progress created an unfortunate distraction that disrupted the viewing of Pilati’s most beautiful pieces.

Designer Bestey Johnson's first fragrance has launched this fall. Johnson is famous for her bright and funky style. Her new perfume, known simply as Betsey Johnson, has a big pink cover top that dwarfs the small bottle. The scent is described as having notes of pear, freesia and praline. The clothing lines of this particular designer has a certain girlish charm about it (and a weakness for pink). Any girl's new best friend for the season.

A 1.7 ounce bottle of the eau de parfum sells for $55 .

Juicy Couture has also launched its own fragrance for the fall. The scent itself is very girly, in line with the Juicy Couture aesthetic which skews toward the young and precious. The line has gone from those iconic L.A. -style tracksuits to handbags and sunglasses. But this particular fragrance is very "girly" and is "like something Barbie might wear." The perfume has top notes of watermelon, mandarin, pink passionfruit, fresh green apple, water hyacinth and crushed leaves with a heart of tuberose, wild rose and princess lily, and a drydown of vanilla, precious woods and patchouli. Juicy is pricey. The one-ounce perfume sells for $300 and a big 20-ounce jumbo bottle will run you $3,000. A bit much for something you'll probably get sick of smelling after a few months!

E.U. imposes customs duties on Chinese/Vietnamese leather shoe imports

Made in China? Not anymore! The European Union imposed customs duties on some Chinese and Vietnamese leather-shoe imports, trying to protect shoemakers in southern Europe and whittle down a record trade deficit with China.

A proposal to slap two-year tariffs of 16.5 percent on imports from China and 10 percent on shipments from Vietnam, was approved by EU representatives. The bloc accuses China and Vietnam of selling footwear in Europe at unfairly low prices, an allegation both countries deny.

I don't think this will save any jobs in Europe. Plus, what ever happened to free trade?

China supplied half of the 2.5 billion pairs of shoes sold in Europe last year. China's sales of 86.9 billion euros in that period made it the No. 2 exporter to Europe, just under the U.S.'s 89.8 million euros.

EU imports of Chinese leather shoes climbed more than fourfold between 2001 2005. Vietnam's shipments almost doubled over the same period.

Four-fifths of the bloc's leather shoes come from Italy, Portugal and Spain, some of those shoemakers employ fewer than 10 people.

The non-stop jaw dropping insanity continues at the Paris Fashion week today as Christian Dior showed its 51 ready-to wear outfits for spring 2007. The first ten items were all boxey suits of all mono-chromatic style. Dior finished off with silk evening dresses. The models were a bit odd and maybe even scary looking.

Jean Paul Gaultier's 30 year Retropsective

This is Jean Paul Gaultier's 30th anniversary year, and after Janet Jackson and other tardy celebs had finally taken their seats, he started a celebration that will continue at a big fête Saturday night by recapping his greatest hits. He began with a man's motorcycle jacket with "76" and the French flag painted on the back, breezed past the bustier dresses with cone-shaped busts that Madonna made famous, and finished with a trompe l'oeil sheath with just one built-in jacket lapel. Together, the 30-plus pieces—some of which looked broken-in, like his friends had just pulled them from their closets—showcased Gaultier's incomparable visual wit.

It's a gift he made liberal use of in the new clothes he showed for next spring. With Jane Fonda on the loudspeakers asking, "Are you ready to work out?" the curtains parted to reveal models sweating away on glittery gym machines. But his sport references went beyond jokey visors, wristbands, and tube socks with heels. Satin ba

seball jackets came in countless color variations, some with Japanese embroidery, others with "30" emblazoned on their backs, and yet more rendered in sequined mesh. I'm sure there were a few gasps and shrugs when this model came down the runway strutting her stuff...all of it. Just goes to show you, always expect the unexpected, especially at a Parisian fashion show.

Turkish designer 'Vakko' Celebrates a Zac Posen Collaboration in Istanbul

When it comes to New York designer Zac Posen, no fête is too far, no land too distant, for his loyal gang of international party pals. Especially when the event in question is an all-expenses-paid, festivity-packed trip to Turkey. For that, thank Cem Hakko, CEO of the country's leading fashion retailer, Vakko, which was celebrating its just-launched collaboration with the New York designer.

Vakko is the quintessential fashion house of Turkey. It established itself as the preeminent name in clothing and accessories. Vakko’s products are at par with some of the best names in Europe. The quality is superb and the designs are unique. They carry the world famous Vakko scarves for ladies, as well as shirts and ties for gentlemen. (I've been there, trust me, its amazing).

After arriving in Istanbul, later that evening, makeup fully applied, the glam group reconvened at Ulus 29. After dining on grilled grouper, roast leg of lamb, and eggplant purée, revelers including Rufus Albemarle, Carlos Souza, and Amy Sacco hit the adjoining club, where they danced until the wee hours to pop tunes spun by model Eve Salvail. "I'm having the time of my life!" said Kate Schelter, the New York consultant who helped broker the deal between Vakko and Posen.

The next morning, even the groggiest guests were primped and primed early (we call 10 a.m. early) for a sail on the Savarona, a six-level yacht with its own salon, movie theater, and library. "When I woke up in the morning, I sounded like I had a sex-change operation," said Houston social force Becca Cason Thrash, whose luggage had also gone missing during her travels. "I called room service for some coffee, and they were, like, 'Okay, sir.'" By mid-morning, she was sipping Champagne on the boat's oversize pillows.

As the giant ship anchored, they snuck off to the Grand Bazaar for some light shopping. Not surprisingly, it was vintage fabrics and locally made caftans that caught Zac's eye. The former will adorn his sofa at home in New York. On a makeshift stage, Dita von Tees performed her trademark tease (including a new segment, which featured a giant birdcage that she built herself). She was followed by belly dancers and some wildly popular whirling dervishes—a group of men who spin in long white skirts as part of an ancient form of religious remembrance. Crooner Bryan Ferry marveled at the wonder of it all. "I don't know who invited me here," he said. "But I'm glad that they did."

Since relaunching Balmain last season, designer Christophe Decarnin has scored his share of red-carpet attention—a freshly cropped Audrey Tautou in a short white number at the Cannes premiere of The DaVinci Code being the most notable. Therefore, his focused sophomore effort concentrated primarily on party frocks favored by young Hollywood. Inspirations mainly came from the 80's archives. Will those same starlets soon be wearing them? You bet.

Margiela Martin Margiela's best-kept secret—apart from his Mr. Invisible image—is that he is one of the finest designers in the industry today. But personally I found this spring's collection rather strange. It's fair to say, too, that there was an Americana stars-and-stripes theme worked into the show.

GQ and Vogue magazines are hosting the opeing party for the first NYC Levis store that has opened on 14th Street. This store is one of 20 new Levi’s Stores opening across the United States this year.

For all of the younger generation that still think of Levis as farmer's pants and the tapered leg look, consider this: Levi’s found itself struggling to reclaim its "jean status" in the market. But it was hard to do this with pricey denim competition such as True Religion, Seven and Hudson. It introduced a Levi Strauss Signature line at Target and Wal-Mart, priced $27 and below.

This year it brought out its Special Edition jeans, which sell for $50 and $98. Barneys and Neiman Marcus began selling Levi’s Capital E, a premium line priced up to $200. I was always accustomed to seeing Levi's at Macy's and other department stores on the clearance racks, lonely and abandoned. Two of my favorite collections from yesterday's show in Milan had to be the Moschino collection. I was acutally taken back by the fact that I took much more liking to it than I had to the Prada collection.
The Moschino show had all the elegance of late-fifties womanhood: the gloves, the bouffant hairdos, the crinolines under the skirts. But the girls Rosella Jardini designs for aren't for the homely type women. Whether on a hot date or solo, she creates styles for women who are ready for the dance floor. Tailored pieces, like trenches and curving boleros—along with leggings, some in gold Lurex—gave evening numbers a cool and sophisticated edge.

This are going as well as can be expected at the Milan hosted fashion week in one of the largest and most influential fashion capitals in the world. Here are some designer debuts from today.

PRADA

A turbaned girl in a burgundy ultrashort tunic—all bare legs and high heels—started the show off, followed by another in a purple, high-necked long-sleeved satin dress reaching below the knee. Welcome to the twilight zone! What was this? Why were nylon backpacks strapped to those tiny, bottom-skimming tops? Why were these looks mixed with forties-looking, rounded-shoulder dresses, blouses, and slim pencil skirts? And why all the strong reds, oranges, and jewel-colored satins for summer? Slightly disapointed with this one.

Bottega Veneta

It's a tall order to stand out as a voice that champions understated luxury and a complete look aimed at grown women. But, season by season, Bottega Veneta has done just that. The designer's spring show worked beautifully with a subtle beige-through-rose palette, with elegance, and stunning detail in close-up. The finale incuded a summer evening gown. For a balmy midsummer night's party on the rolling lawn of somebody's estate, what could be more perfect than stripe shirtdress and a pair of flat sandals? The fact that Botegga conjured up an exact picture of his customer, and where she might wear his clothes, is a testament to his growing success.

La Perla

Some in the States might be surprised to learn that La Perla has a ready-to-wear collection, but judging by the Italian TV personalities in the front row today, the brand's reach in its home country now extends beyond the lingerie drawer. That doesn't mean that the collection ignored its roots. On the contrary, it took a handful of spring trends—eyelet, pale neutrals, miniature florals—and sexed them up with touches of lace and generous helpings of bare skin.

(Reuters) - Five anti-fur protesters stormed Roberto Cavalli's flamboyant fashion show today, unrolling posters saying "Cavalli = cruelty" on the catwalk before they were dragged away by security staff.
Cavalli's sports-themed show for his Just Cavalli label had opened with a live brass band dancing on a mock football pitch, followed by models in broad-shouldered cropped jackets and thigh-skimming dresses to a backdrop of electronic score boards.
The protesters belong to animal rights group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). Three of its members had also crashed the Burberry fashion show on Monday, shouting "Burberry fur shame".
PETA won notoriety in the fashion world in the 1990s with adverts of nude supermodels accompanied by the slogan "We'd rather go naked than wear fur".
But since then, fur has steadily crept back into fashion magazines and onto the catwalks.
Even though there have been NO fur outfits so thus far at Milan Fashion week, PETA president says they target Cavalli because he claims to be an animal lover but has used fur in his other features.

In their sophisticated designs, masterminds like Musso, Camerino and Scognamiglio display their chic styles for the Ready-To-Wear line for Spring 2007. Salvatorre Ferragamo

Salvatore Ferragamo famously supplied Marilyn Monroe with shoes for her steamy role in 1959's Some Like It Hot. In the end, though, the collection didn't quite make a persuasive case to be taken on a par with the brand's lucrative accessories. Underscoring the importance of the latter to this house, nearly every model came out with the glam oversize shades, stacks of bangles or chain-handle bags, and croc slingbacks. Ferragamo also had some of the prettiest and healthiest looking models I've seen since the end of NYC fashion week.

Belstaff

Belstaff, the 82-year-old company first known for its waterproof, waxed-cotton motorcycle gear and more recently championed by Hollywood costume designers, took a wrong turn this season. This tough-chic line has always had a certain sex appeal, but its attraction lies in being effortless, not blatant. Here, Belstaff's traditional outerwear was deconstructed into halter dresses and skimpy, snap-covered overalls pieced together like jigsaw puzzles.

Maybe it was the late hour—the show started after 10 p.m. due to daylong rain and traffic delays—but more than one editor wondered aloud if the audience had inadvertently stepped into a strip club. However, a few sharp-looking pieces built on the brand's strengths: notably the brightly color-blocked motorcycle jackets, cropped or hip-length and belted, that closed the show.

Fendi- To "B" or not to "B"

Fendi has recently come out with the new "B" bag. "B" ofcourse for the two big Buckles the bag sports in the front. The design is basically the same but changes in theme from the "patent leather B-bag, the Metallic B-bag, this seasons hit- the Leopard B-bag, etc etc. They all differ in size as we have the Medium B-bag and the Mini B-bag.
Fendi is my all time favorite in the line of luxury purses. I cant shake the chills I get when I see that classic Fendi Logo on its historic cloth and leather purses. It's classy and screams "I don't bother with Gucci's and Louis Vuittons!" Thats why I;m not too sure with the new B-bag. Don't get me wrong I think the style is simple and defined. It'll probably be around for this and next season....but I'm sure you'll agree it won't gain "classic" status like the old Fendi monograms.

Louis Vuitton's Winter collection pays tribute to leopard print-a design we'll be seeing on everyone this fall and winter. Louis Vuitton, just like Prada, Gucci, Chanel and all those other "fancy shmancy" purse designers are all very personal to each buyer. Some feel Louis are too tacky for their liking, others feel it can be worn with anything from sweats to a cocktail dress depending on the design.

Louis Vuitton recently discovered a 1958 design in their archives, titled 'Lockit', and, recognizing its classic lines, reinterpreted it in their trademark monogrammed canvas. It's set to be the Louis Vuitton icon for fall/Winter 06, and can be seen slung on the arm of every major Hollywood player. Available in horizontal for $935, vertical for $900, and the standard size, for $770. Basically the same clean line design- no change at all to the monogram style.

Inspired by the Gaston Vuitton look of the 1960's the Alma bag has now become a classic. Colors come in black, red brown and the one above. Named after Place de l'Alma, the grand Paris square at the end of Avenue Montaigne. Price. $1,040.00

Armani RED- Collection in London

This season, the Emporio Armani show was less about what was on the runway than what was going on around it. Giorgio Armani transplanted his presentation to Earls Court exhibition center in London, invited Beyoncé and 50 Cent to perform in front of a massive audience, and—for good measure—asked Bono, Bobby Shriver, Ashley Judd, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kim Cattrall, and Alicia Keys to speak.

It was all in aid of charity—the RED initiative to raise money for The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Bono spoke of the 30 cents it costs for the two pills it takes to tackle HIV, and proselytized the RED slogan: "Shop till it Stops." As for the collection, in broad terms, it was all short: short taffeta dresses, shrunken jackets in pinstripe, and shorts done in a half-dozen varieties of tailored and puffy shapes, and it all came in black, gray, red, and white. Certainly, the clothes conveyed Armani's abiding aesthetic, but in the end, the event wasn't about fashion trends—it was about pulling back to look at a bigger picture.
